Dinosaur Park Day - Two Days - Saturday, August 17, and Sunday, August 18

This will be a double DinoDay to celebrate the State Parks Centennial. Music, games, a craft tent and two live animal presentations are scheduled on Saturday. For the second day, there will be live musical entertainment from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Master Falconer Lorrie Schumacher will present a birds of prey program featuring birds in flight at 1 p.m. All outdoor activities will be free on both days.

Ongoing Programs

The Exhibit Center, which closed in late February for renovations, is now open with a new Discovery Room featuring hands-on activities and exciting new exhibits for children and adults.

View a Film Films are shown beginning at 10 a.m. Last showing begins at 3:30 p.m.  Films are scheduled only on weekends. During the week, visitors may request a film.

Meet the park’s animals: Programs with our live animals will be conducted only on weekends.

Track Talks: A staff member will answer questions about the tracks and discuss what Connecticut was like in the early Jurassic period. Call the park for the schedule.

Crafts: On Wednesdays, the craft area will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for children to create a take-home item.
